Building Skills
in Early & Emerging Talent
Capgemini partners with companies to transform and manage their business by unlocking the value of technology. As a leading strategic partner to companies around the world, they have leveraged technology to enable business transformation for more than 50 years.
Capgemini’s commitment to innovation extends to its talent development, with the Talent Programme providing opportunities for over 800 Apprentices and Graduates annually, along with a range of development activities for emerging managers and established leaders. Orangebox is a critical part of this delivery function, working across the Early & Emerging Talent leads to come up with engaging content that focuses on how they can build the important colleagueship and interpersonal skills within the company’s high-performance culture.
CAPGEMINI
structured
self-discovery processes
Working across multiple locations and in virtual settings, Orangebox has supported large groups with challenge-style projects and themed workshops tailored to diverse learning needs. These immersive experiences help embed new talent within their operational functions through collaborative problem-solving and skill development activities. Participants are guided through structured self-discovery processes where they explore their professional identities, identify their unique contributions to teams and projects, and pinpoint areas for focused growth.
By creating environments that balance challenge with support, Orangebox facilitates meaningful connections between colleagues while providing practical frameworks that participants can apply throughout their development journeys within Capgemini. This approach not only accelerates integration but also establishes foundations for long-term career progression and leadership development aligned with the company’s strategic objectives.
CAPGEMINI
charity hackathon
To offer a further opportunity for Graduates to come together, and to provide direct benefit to a connected cause, Orangebox designed and delivered a full-day event for 35 participants in the Capgemini Woking office. Working with digital inclusion charity AbilityNet, the groups were given a real-life challenge to create an assessment tool for disabled service users, researching, selecting and building their solution before presenting it to a panel from the charity.
Focus was placed on how the Graduates could come together in their teams and assign clear roles and responsibilities, playing to their identified strengths in order to come up with a viable product that the charity could take forward.
We also delivered some virtual versions of the Hackathon, using online breakout rooms to come up with solutions for charity partners BASE and Bowel Cancer UK.
CAPGEMINI
apprentice
challenge day
As part of their induction week, 50 Apprentices were given the chance to attend a unique Orangebox challenge day where their collaboration and creative talents were put to the test.
‘Workplace Apocalypse’ required small teams to assess how they would go about rebuilding the business from scratch and come up with smart solutions for how they might restore power, water and connectivity after a major event had taken place.
Along the way their critical thinking, communication and negotiation skills were brought to the fore as they battled to be selected as the winning group.
